2010 Canadian Senior Boxing Championship
Results: Susan Haas, Norman Bradford, Paul Mackenzie, Colin
Pham, Jonathan Andre, Josh Fraser and coach Brad
Hortie participated in the National Tournament, and all
performed excellantly. Susan Haas and Colin Pham
took home Gold and Silver medals
respectively. Susan Hass is now the
64 kg Canadian champion.
Jan. 22/10: Cougar
Boxers Susan Haas, Norman Bradford, Paul Mackenzie, Colin
Pham, Jonathan Andre, Josh Fraser and coach Brad
Hortie are now at the the Boxing Alberta Training
Centre to make final preparations. The Cougar boxers and
coach will make up a large part of Team Alberta
competing at the Canadian Senior Boxing Championships
being held in St. Hyacinthe Quebec, January 26 - 30.
We have a very strong group this year and wish them all the best of
success, safety, and fun on this important trip.

Nov. 23: Congratulations
to Cougar Boxers Norman Bradford, Gary Dupuis, Colin Pham
and Steven Boldt for winning Provincial
Championships. Jonathan Andres and
Josh Fraser (both Cougar Boxers) defeated everyone in the
69 kg. class and will face each other in a box-off to decide who
will represent Alberta as Provincial champion. Update: Jonathan won,
and is the Provincial Champ.
Oct. 4: Cougar Boxer Susan Hass
joins the Canadian Boxing Team to compete at the 2009
Women's World Continental Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador:
Susan lost her last bout by 1 point - she won the
Bronze Medal... 3'd in the World: good work

Oct. 2: Cougar boxers Norman Bradford, Paul Mackenzie,
Ryan O'Connell, Josh Fraser and Colin
Pham are scheduled to box at the upcoming Doug's
Place Challenge Cup (Crown Plaza Hotel). This year the
annual event will have top Alberta boxers facing off against the
British Police Boxing Team. - Tough card - close
bouts: Norman Bradford
and Paul Mackenzie
won their bouts.
Aug. 28: Former Cougar amateurs Kris Andrews (pro 15-8-2) and
Anthony Lessard (pro 7-5-2) fought each other for the
Canadian
light-middleweight Championship... it was an exciting fight
that went the distance: Congratulations to the new
Canadian
light-middleweight Champion, Kris Andrews! With a lot on
the line, and local bragging rights at stake, both boxers really
showed their skill and heart in this bout, and both were respectful
towards each other during and after the bout... Kris and
Anthony are
definitely two classy individuals!
